Backend engineer · M.Sc. AI student · Málaga

I build the quiet parts of real-time systems.

APIs, message queues and the pipelines that ship them, in TypeScript and Python with Kafka, RabbitMQ and GitLab CI. Now studying an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence to build the systems that put models into production.

Alerting pipeline: MQTT feeds an alert engine built with TypeScript and Redis, which publishes to Kafka and RabbitMQ. Background workers consume both and deliver push notifications and email. mqtt alert engine TYPESCRIPT · REDIS kafka rabbitmq workers push email

Machine learning, deep learning and NLP at Universidad Europea, aimed at running models in production, not only training them.

What I work on

Most of my time goes into the backend: services that pass events to each other, APIs on top of PostgreSQL, and the pipelines that get all of it into production.

Smart-meter topology · Enerclic

8×

Faster, and finally right in the field.

Redesigned the algorithm that matches household smart meters to the line and phase of their data concentrator: data cleaning, time-offset alignment, correlation-based matching and Pandas/NumPy parallelization. Field-verified accuracy went from 10% to 80%, execution time dropped eightfold, and it now runs in production for a group of clients.

Event-driven systems

Microservices and background workers that talk through Kafka and RabbitMQ, with Redis and MQTT on the real-time path.

Observability

Centralized logs, monitoring and alerts across every microservice with the ELK stack.

From merge to production

Co-designed the GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Nginx API gateway for 10 microservices and workers. Deploys went from 30–40 minutes of manual commands to about 10 minutes from a single PR.

Backend Developer

  • Real-time alerting system. Modular TypeScript service on Redis and MQTT, with microservices and background workers communicating over Kafka and RabbitMQ to drive push notification and email delivery.
  • REST APIs. Scalable services in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript, with PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization.
  • CI/CD and API gateway. Co-designed, with one other engineer, GitLab pipelines (change detection, build, test, signing, deploy to dev/prod) and an Nginx API gateway (single entry point, per-IP rate limiting, JWT auth via a dedicated microservice) for 10 microservices and workers. Deploys cut from 30–40 minutes of manual commands to about 10 minutes from a single PR.
  • Observability. Centralized logging, monitoring and alerting across microservices with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
  • Smart-meter topology. Redesigned the algorithm that matches household meters to the line and phase of their data concentrator, with data cleaning, time-offset alignment, correlation-based matching and Pandas/NumPy parallelization: field-verified accuracy from 10% to 80%, 8× faster, now in production for a group of clients.

Vodafone

DevOps & Full-Stack Intern

  • Self-service pipeline portal. Built on my own a web portal (Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS) for internal teams to configure, run and monitor GitLab pipelines, replacing terminal-based daily processes.
  • Serverless API. Designed and deployed a REST API on AWS API Gateway and Lambda (Python), consumed by the front end.
  • Authentication and RBAC. Login via Active Directory (LDAP), session management and permission boundaries.
  • CI/CD. Automated GitLab workflows with bash scripting, and took part in code reviews and release quality.
  • Secrets and artifacts. Integrated AWS Secrets Manager and S3 for secure secret storage and artifact management.

Off the clock

I ride motorcycles and design parts in CAD to 3D‑print them. Same instinct as the day job: take the machine apart, understand it, put it back together better.
